Bulgaria has untouched nature in its mountain ranges. The Balkans cross the whole country revealing century old forests and medieval architecture reaching the beautiful seaside, Rodopi Mountain reveals mythical stories of ancient protagonist like Orpheus, Rila and Pirin Mountains presents world class ski conditions and great winter incentives opportunities.  Bansko is the  country’s most popular ski resort, set between three  mountain ranges with the ski area up at an altitude of 2000-2600 meters. The height means it gets reliable snow cover between December and March, as well as having some pretty spectacular views. The ski area has around 70 km worth of pistes – with a good mixture of levels. 

The good location and wonderful nature of Bansko brought inhabitants to the region since ancient times. Numerous archaeological sites in the community reveal ruins of ancient strongholds, Thracian funeral mounds, churches from the late Medieval ages. 

Bansko offers plenty of activities also off season – from hiking in the nearby mountains to rafting in the Struma river (30km away), ATV adventures, horseback riding, golf, cultural and historical visits in the villages around.
